GM Mayo started in the art of Shotokan at age 6 in Harlem NY, receieved Shodan at 16 yrs old. Studied Shaolin gung fu under Sifu Jeff Monroe, son of Chief Gm black hawk San Carlos. Trained under the late Gm Billy T. Taylor. In 1988 i began training under Prof. Lou Ferrer. From 1989 / 1994. He competed and won 9 grand championships, One World Championship and many for 2nd and 3rd place. He has trained law enforcement and military and was featured on the Military Channel. GM Mayo was commissioned to the rank of Grandmaster in 2006 by Chief Black Hawk San Carlos, Soke Papasan Canty, Soke Haisan Kaleak and Soke Lil John Davis.
